UPV & RH Test

Ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) and Rebound Hammer (RH) tests are often used for assessing the quality of concrete and estimation of its compressive strength. Several parameters influence this property of concrete as the type and size of aggregates, cement content, the implementation of concrete, etc.

What is the UPV Test?

Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity(UPV) test means to assist the transit time of ultrasonic pulses with 50–58 kHz, created by an electroacoustical transducer and passing from one surface of the element to the other.

How Does the Test Help?

The ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) measurement can be utilized for the determination of concrete uniformity, cracks or voids' presence, changes in properties with time. As the amount of DOTP in the concrete increases, the ultrasonic pulse velocity of the concrete decreases.
